Khartoum, Feb. 12 (SUNA) - The Chairman of the Sudanese Youth National Federation Dr. Bashar Shogar explained that the federation has realized several achievements through its external participation and supporting of the Sudanese diplomacy in the international forums.
Dr. Shogar said, in an interview to the Sudanese radio Friday, that federation contributed, with the two Arab and African groups at the United Nations during the past two weeks, to submission of recommendations to the International Organization urging lifting of the economic embargo on Sudan.
He added that the youth delegation discussed with the Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations for Youth Affairs Ahmed Hindawi the concerns of the youth in Sudan and the region, revealing that the talks mainly focused on the delivery of Sudanese youth's voice demanding the lifting of the sanctions imposed on their country, explaining that the delegation focused on the same subject during its participation in the youth forum in the United Nations' Socio-economic Council held recently, hoping that the efforts to be culminated with the lift of sanctions on Sudan.
Dr. Bashar revealed intensive activity of the Sudanese Youth National Federation in the African arena to consolidated Sudan's regional position, referring to the selection of the federation within the selected teams at the Organization of the States of Great Lakes to monitor the presidential and parliamentary elections in Uganda during the current month, which is to be added to the balance of its previous participation of elections observation in many African countries the latest of which is Tanzania elections.
