Childhood Secretary Meets UNICEF Director

Khartoum, Nov.12 (SUNA) - The Secretary General of the National Council for Child Welfare, Suad Abdulal received, Thursday, at her office, the Deputy Director of the UNICEF in the presence of the organization's Country Representative in Sudan .
The Secretary of the Council said the meeting has discussed, among other issues, the challenges facing childhood in Sudan, the protection, welfare and the unilateral sanctions imposed on Sudan .
The childhood Council official has called on the UNICEF to play its role away from political motivation, affirming the provision of the state political will through signing and ratification of the Child Rights Agreement , the issuance of the Child law for 2010 and establishment of the institutions concerning children protection .
She said the UNICEF Official has asserted the necessity for the private sector support to child issues, pledging to strengthen relations with Sudan .
