Foreign Ministry: US Justifications for renewal of Sanctions imposed in Sudan are totally Rejected

Khartoum, Nov.4 (SUNA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed 'deep regret' over the decision taken by the US government to renew the unilateral sanctions imposed on Sudan since 1997 for a year period starting Nov.3 2015 .
The ministry in statement issued, Wednesday, on the renewal of the US unilateral economic sanctions on Sudan ,has totally rejected the reasons and justifications which were mentioned by the White House concerning the renewal of the sanctions .
The statement pointed out to the international consensus which rejects any unilateral economic procedures that represent flagrant violation to the international law and the right of the people towards the realization of economic and sustainable development, combating poverty and ignorance and control of diseases and epidemics .
'The countries of the world have agreed that the economic sanctions threaten international peace and security' the statement indicated.
The statement said the decision of the US Administration coincides Sudan's continued efforts to realize peace and stability in the region via prevention of organized crime, human trafficking and the cooperation in the field of combating terrorism .
