Sudanese permanent envoy to the United Nations (UN), Omar Dahab, has emphasized the need for cooperation between his country and UN to attain the joint aims.
in his meeting with journalists in Khartoum on Saturday, Dahab discussed the challenges and issues facing the Sudan Permanent Mission in New York, touching on the issue of the UNAMID exit strategy from Darfur, the African position from the International Criminal Court (ICC) and participation of Sudan in the meetings of the General Assembly of the United.
He pointed out to the positive developments and successes of the situation in Darfur since the signing of Doha Peace Agreement, which requires UNAMID Mission cooperation with the Government of Sudan to implement the exit strategy through the agreement of the triple team mechanism between Sudan, the United Nations and the African Union, disclosing that the joint committee of the three parties completed an excellent act that can be seen in the current situation in Darfur, adding that the mechanism view is to apply an exit strategy because the situation in Darfur has become secured and stable after the conclusion of the Doha agreement
The Ambassador stressed that the United Nations refusal to sign an exit strategy poses an intervention and political agenda in order to hinder this process, noting that African position is clear and supportive of the position of Sudan regarding the International Criminal Court (ICC) , stressing that ICC is politicized and that the causes of its extinction are present through its statute and that it is based on the principle its priority focuses on the African continent and its leaders a matter that snapping its credibility and impartiality.
