Sudan’s Democratic Unionist Party rejects to participate in the coming government

Sudan’s main Democratic Unionist Party has rejected offer made by the ruling National Congress Party (NCP) (DUP) to participate in the coming government, stressing that such offer doesn’t serve the reform of the State.
The leading figure of DUP, Osama Hassouna, told Al-Rai Al-A’am newspaper on Saturday that his party will distance itself from participating in the next government and rather it would focus on the party’s reform
"We want a partnership at homeland and not participating in the governance."
Hassouna said
It is noteworthy that the Democratic Unionist Party participates in the current government with three federal ministers and two ministers of state
The DUP left opposition ranks and joined the “broad-based” government of the NCP in December 2011, citing the “need to save the country” in the words of the leader of the party Mohamed Osman al-Mirghani.
