Sudan has stressed the crucial importance of using the Africa’s history for educational purposes, pointing out that the country’s policy regarding the public education is in consistency with this project.
Sudan’s Vice President, Bakri Hassan Saleh, announced on Monday that Sudan’s support to the meeting of the international scholar committee for the project of educational use of Africa general history, and put the recommendations into practice, stressing that this gives high attention to the issue of African unity and does not conceal its effective role in supporting the trends of unity and integration between the peripheries of the continent.
Saleh added that Sudan is approaching a new phase in the progress of the national buildup after approving the national entitlement in conformity with the constitution to firmly go ahead in establishing the pillars of security and stability, peace and sustainable development, to fulfill the aspiration of its great nation, noting that the radical solution to many of the problems of the continent lies in the in the integration and unity of its countries outlining that Sudan possesses a good comparative advantage by neighboring several African countries in addition to its asphalted land roads extending eastwards to Ethiopia, and Eritrea, westward to Chad and the Central African Country via the Salvation land road.
He praised the role undertaken by the African Union leading the initiatives of integration and unity amidst the countries of the continent particularly the cultural and social unity, lauding the role of UNESCO in support of this trend.
He also affirmed the continuous support of Sudan to the values for which UNESCO work in establishing the pillars of peace and build up. He said the project of the general history of Africa has been registered by the UNESCO in 1964 upon the desires and aspirations of the newly independent African countries while the Khartoum conference in the year 2006 has stipulated that the general history of Africa published by the UNESCO shall be the authorized base for teaching the history of Africa and advised the presidents of the courtiers to publish it and distribute in many languages.
