Egyptian Ambassador to Sudan, Osama Shaltout disclosed on Saturday that Egypt’s Ministers of agriculture and water resources will visit Sudan, pointing out that the visit the two ministries aimed at supporting and developing cooperation between the two countries, especially in the areas of investment in agricultural projects, food security, livestock development, as well as the preparation for meetings of the joint higher Committee, which is scheduled to be held soon in Cairo at the presidential level between the two countries.
The Ambassador added that the two Ministers will hold intensive discussions with number of Sudanese senior officials, including meetings with the Ministers of agriculture, water resources, electricity, dams, investment, livestock, and environment, in which they will address ways of overcoming difficulties in the implementation of joint investment projects to achieve the desired integration in the areas of agriculture, livestock, forestry, food security, joint ventures, and other themes and related files.
Egypt’s diplomat stressed that the visit comes within the framework of the initiative launched by Sudan’s President Omar al-Bashir on the Arab food security to achieve the agricultural integration between Egypt and Sudan as the nucleus of Arab integration, in order to bridge the food gap for people of the Arabic nation.
