The Egypt Post signed a joint agreement to provide postal parcels for outstanding customer service, according to an Egypt Post press release Wednesday.

During the Sudanese Post delegation visit to the Egypt Post Wednesday, they discussed ways of activating the memorandum of understanding between the Egyptian and Sudanese postal systems to develop the level of services.

The delegation, headed by CEO of Sudanese Postal Services Co. Ltd Abdo Saleh Mubarak, met the vice presidents of the secretariat affairs and postal areas’ affairs.

The visit lasts for two days and comes in the framework of Egyptian interest in promoting means of cooperation with the postal systems of Arab and African countries.

The visit will include inspection tours by the Sudanese delegation to the Egypt Post office in Attaba, the international rapid courier service and customs clearance in the Egyptian Airport and the e-services support unit.

The tour also includes a visit to the Logistics Department at the Cairo Airport Office of Exchange, the Postal Museum, and the Regional African Training Center located at the Smart Village.

The Egypt Post is interested in exchanging experiences and strengthening cooperation with all countries on the Arab, African and international level in order to raise the level of services provided to customers, according to the acting head of the Egypt Post Magdy Metwally Hegazy.

The Egypt Post is a governmental entity, responsible for the postal service in Egypt, and was established in 1865. It achieved a financial surplus in its budget for the last fiscal year (FY) 2013/2014, amounting to EGP 216m, for the first time in 10 years, after a series of losses. The total deposits of the post amounted EGP 152bn in Egyptian banks by the end of February.
