The Secretary-General of Sudanese Authority for Organizing the Affairs of Sudanese Working Abroad, Ambassador Haj Majid Suwar, has disclosed that postponement of the evacuation of Sudanese nationals from Yemen attributed to technical reasons, notably the coordination with Saudi Arabia-led coalition led which controls the entire atmosphere in the war zone in Yemen.
Suwar said in press statements on Saturday that they have registered so far about 2000 Sudanese interested in the voluntary return out of 5000 live in Yemen, pointing out that the technical reasons, specially the coordination with the coalition led to the postpone the evacuation process.
"We had coordinated with a group of airlines and transferred the money to them to evacuate our citizens” He said
He disclosed arrival of numbers of Sudanese to the State of Djibouti, noting that more than a hundred Sudanese citizen will be deported by sea to Djibouti, which will become the station of the Technical Committee.
Sudan on Thursday announced its participation in a Saudi-led offensive against Yemen's Houthis, which began with a string of airstrikes late Wednesday.
Saudi Arabia said the anti-Houthi operation was in response to calls by Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi for military intervention to "save the people of Yemen from the Houthi militias."
Fractious Yemen has been in turmoil since last September, when the Shiite militant group overran capital Sanaa, from which it has sought to extend its influence to other parts of the country as well.
