The British Embassy in Khartoum has refused to grant visas to a number of Sudanese who regularly visit the United Kingdom, according to Khartoum-based Al-Rai Al-A’am newspaper.
An informed source told the newspaper on Saturday that the British Embassy refused to grant a visa to a known orthopedist, a Sudanese woman owns an apartment in England and the wife of a famous doctor there
The source did not rule out that the British Embassy may has refused a visa to a large number of Sudanese who had visited the United Kingdom, expressing his fears that European embassies in Khartoum to follow the British Embassy footsteps.
The newspaper was unable to get any information from the British Embassy in Khartoum about the nature of the action which it has taken and whether it was related to the measures called for some EU countries including Britain to prevent what it called tourism of Jihad in Syria.
