Sudan’s Ministry of Finance and Kuwaiti Fund for Arabic economic development signed on Thursday on a loan agreement to finance the water harvesting project in Al-Reef Al-Sudani for $ 68 million for the first stage.
Undersecretary of Ministry of Finance, Mustafa Yousif, signed on behalf of Sudanese government and the legal counsel Mohamed Al-Anani, signed of on behalf of Kuwaiti Fund for Arabic economic development.
Al-Anani described the project as a vital strategic project to provide drinking water in Sudan, pointing out that the project aims to provide funding for the dams along Sudan, along with provision of wells and dams in Sudanese states to meet the urgent and necessary needs of the citizens for safe drinking water.
For his part, the head of mission of the Kuwait Fund, Dr. Abdolreda Bahman, noted that the project covers 800 sites in the different states from wells, boreholes and dams with different sizes in the desert areas.
