Ministry Sudanese Interior Ministry revealed on new statistics on the numbers of foreigners in the country and speculated that the total number of those who entered Sudan illegally between 2-3 million.
Sudan shares open borders with seven States and difficult for it to control, including Egypt, Libya, Chad, Central African Republic, South Sudan, Ethiopia, and Eritrea.
And human trafficking gangs are active in smuggling people across the Eastern Horn of Africa, in preparation for their migration to Europe via Egypt and Libya.
Sudan’s Director of Department of passports and immigration, Ahmed Atta Al-Manan Othman, added that the number of foreigners who entered the country legally reached 50,000 foreigners, pointing out that they have registered 230,000 foreigners who entered the country illegally, noting that registration project is progressing well.
Othman told the state-run Sudan Media Center (SMC) on Saturday that the total number of those who entered the country illegally between 2 to 3 million
The Interior Ministry revealed in a report in January that the number of foreigners in the country exceeded 4 million mostly from West and East Africa and South Sudan.
A scientific paper disclosed earlier that 40% of the population of the capital, Khartoum are foreigners, adding that Sudan hosts more than four million foreigners, including 64,000 live illegally and 700 diplomats and 13 thousand foreign students.
