Sudan’s Government announced on Monday resumption of negotiations with the rebel of the Sudanese People's Liberation Movement-North,(SPLM-N) on Southern Kordofan and Blue Nile States, known as Tow Areas, within the next two weeks before the end of this month.
Sudan’s Information Minister, Ahmed Bilal Osman, in press statements according to the state-run Sudan Media Center (SMC) on Monday, said that Khartoum’s government is stick to the previous negotiation of the agenda to resume the negotiating process.
Osman added that his government agreed on the proposal made by the head of African Union High-level Implementation Panel (AUHIP) Thabo Mbeki to resume negotiations on the Two Areas in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa to put an end to the conflict in the areas.
The mediation has earlier stressed the need to reach an agreement that would end the war and put an end to the suffering of citizens in South Kordofan and Blue Nile and allows for the delivering of assistance to citizens in war zones.
The Blue Nile and South Kordofan’s conflict erupted months apart from each other in 2011 when Sudan attempted to forcibly disarm SPLM-N fighters it accuses of being backed by their brother-in-arms in the South Sudanese army.
