Sudan’s government discloses that Mbeki has not submitted written proposals to resume negotiations with the rebel (SPLM-N)
Sudan’s government has disclosed that the head of African Union High-Level Implementation Panel (AUHIP), Thabo Mbeki, has not submitted written proposals to Khartoum’s government to resume its negotiations with the rebel Sudan’s People Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) on the Blue Nile and Southern Kordofan states, known as the Tow Areas.
Government’s member of the negotiation, Hussein Karshom, said in press statements to Al-Rai Al-A’am newspaper on Thursday that Mbeki has spoken verbally to the officials about the package of negotiating issues, pointing out that the government has formed three security, political, humanitarian committees early which followed by the national dialogue committee to discuss all proposals on negotiations and preparations for the new round, which it has not yet been determined
Karshom noted that committees did not received yesterday invitation from the head of the Government delegation to the meeting, pointing out that Mbeki is keen on meeting them in all his visits to bring the views regarding proposals to resolve problems ‘s negotiations.
