Khartoum-SudaneseOnline-Sudan’s government disclosed that the head of African Union High-Level Implementation Panel (AUHIP), Thabo Mbeki, has initiated a new approach to succeed the next round of negotiations on Blue Nile and Southern Kordofan states with Sudan’s People Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) which represented in defining of preliminary points about determining of the issues and approach and negotiation between the parties.
Member of Sudan’s Government negotiating delegation, Hussein Hamdi, told Al-Shirouq T.V on Monday that African mediation has become convinced of the futility of last negotiating approach and strive to promote the success of the upcoming negotiations, stressing that SPLM-N has stolen efforts and rights of people of the Two Areas
"The negotiation is not a court, and the mediator is not a judge, and positions of SPLM-N is tactical, and Government delegation is ready to negotiate at any time” Hamdi added
He confirmed that the military readiness is the duty of the State, and Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) is responsible for protecting the homeland and not subject to political events.
The rebel group also renewed its demand for an inclusive and comprehensive based on the 18 June framework agreement and demanded that Khartoum immediately lift the ban on its activities and associate it in the preparation of a national conference to discuss the different conflicts in Sudan and constitutional reforms.
