Jan 16, 2015-Khartoum-SudaneseOnline-Sudan’s President Assistant, Ibrahim Ghandour, stressed that announcement of the opposition parties to form body to block the electoral process is contrary to law
According to Sudan News Agency (SUNA) on Thursday, Ghandour emphasized the non-eligibility of opposition forces in preventing citizens from exercising the right to vote
"These forces have no right to prevent citizens to exercise their right to go to the polls." He added
He described the opposition’s position like a student who wants to boycott school halls by closing those halls before the others.
About threat of non-recognition of elections by the international community, the Sudanese official said what interests them is the recognition of Sudanese people who give legitimacy and not foreign States
The opposition Now Reform Movement initiated on Wednesday an official campaign for a boycott of the elections which the Sudanese Government intends to hold by next April.
Most of Sudanese opposition forces have decided not to participate in upcoming elections after the ruling National Congress Party (NCP) rejected several requests for postponement the elections. The government says it would not risk the legitimacy of the system which its constitutional term will end April
