Jan 06, 2015-Khartoum-SudaneseOnline- Sudan's ruling National Congress Party (NCP) said that the dispute among opposition parties participating in the national dialogue causing the postponement of launch of the process.
NCP head political sector, Mustafa Osman Ismail, told the state-run Sudanese Media Center (SMC) on Monday that the Technical Coordinative Committee finished its tasks, including the road map, choosing of the national personalities and National Secretariat.
Ismail added that the national dialogue was scheduled to start the next week, but the dispute among the opposition parties hindered the process, expressing his hope that these differences to be solved next few days
Sudan’s president Omer Hassan al-Bashir launched the national dialogue initiative last January in which he urged opposition parties and rebels alike to join the dialogue table to discuss all the pressing issues.
But the initiative faced serious setbacks after rebel groups and leftist parties refused to join and after the National Umma Party (NUP) withdrew from the process in protest of al-Mahdi’s brief arrest earlier this year.
