Khartoum-SudaneseOnline-Egypt's Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, has disclosed that a meeting will be held today, Sunday, in Cairo to discuss ways to implement the agreements signed with Sudan and find solutions to any problems may impede implementation.
In an interview with Khartoum-based Al-Rai Al-A’am newspaper published on Sunday, Shoukry stressed that his government would not allow any malicious activity against Sudan from Egyptian territory, pointing out that presence of Sudanese in Egypt depends on not to commit any harmful activity against Sudan, explaining that Cairo’s government responds to the will of the Egyptian people who wants close relations with Sudan
The Egyptian top diplomat described the two countries ' relations, as “ very strong”, especially after the meeting of the presidents of the two countries, noting that the public opinion in Egypt respects Sudanese people and doesn’t accept any type of override, calling for the need for joint action to control the borders, adding that there are illegal bodies which have political and criminal interests on the borders.
He reduced differences over the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, saying that the water issue is very simple and all should benefit.
Shoukry arrived in Khartoum on Wednesday on a two-day official visit.
Egyptian Ambassador to Khartoum, Osama Shaltout, said in a press statement in Khartoum on Sunday that Egyptian Foreign Minister will attend the meetings of the second session of the "Russian-Arab", Forum hosted by Khartoum on 3 and 4 December, with the participation of ministers from the Arab countries and Russia’s Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov.
Shaltout added the Egyptian top diplomat will take part at the fifth meeting of Libya’s neighboring countries foreign ministers, hosted by Khartoum on Dec. 4, with the participation of the States of Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Niger and Chad, as well as the secretary-General of Arab League, Nabil Elaraby
