Khartoum-SudaneseOnline-Confidence building workshop on border issues between Sudan and the South Sudan kicked off on Monday in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa which is being organized by the AU border programme and The African Union High-Level Implementation Panel (AUHIP).
Sudan’s Minister of State in the Presidency of the Republic, who leads Sudan delegation participating in the workshop, Haroon Rasheed explained that the workshop aims to build confidence about border issues and global experiences and identify needs for demarcation, along with the programme of the African Union in that aspect.
He told the state-run Sudanese Media Center (SMC) said that the workshop will last until Friday and would discuss the issues and information on global trends which would be presented by African experts and the issues of joint border commissions, revealing their rejection of proposal at the workshop recommendations.
He added that they rejected demarcation of the disputed areas program, indicating that South Sudan delegations interactive on the demarcation of the border, saying that they are willing to cooperate and hold future meetings in Juba or Khartoum.
