Troika calls for immediate cessation of hostilities in Sudan

Khartoum-The Troika countries have warned the Sudanese government not to launch military attacks on South Kordofasn and Blue Nile areas, calling for immediate synchronized cessation of hostilities in the two areas and Darfur.

In a move considered to be a change in the international stance toward the comprehensive solution of the Sudanese crisis, the Troika countries have called in a joint communiqué on Addis Ababa talks for a meeting to bring together the Sudanese parties to discuss the practical issues of relevance and to agree on conditions and goals of the national dialogue.

The statement has expressed concern over continuity of the aerial bombardment and the humanitarian crisis in the areas of dispute in Sudan.

The statement has urged all parties to take this opportunity and build a comprehensive and practical process toward the national dialogue and sustainable peace.
