Khartoum-SudaneseOnline- Sudan’s Interior Ministry authorities has estimated the number of foreigners in the country illegally about (6,000) , meanwhile, it acknowledged the difficulty of accurate statistical numbers for widening of Sudan's borders with a number of African States.
Director of the General Administration of passports and immigration, Ahmed Atta Al-Mannan, revealed in press statements on Monday that Interior’s Ministry has directed not granting visa for foreigners coming from countries hit by Ebola virus, pointing out that the foreign presence has become a problem in Sudan, stating that European countries provide support to Arab countries bordering the Mediterranean to prevent immigration.
Al-Mannan admitted lack of accurate statistics on the illegal foreign presence although the civil registry has succeeded n the process of registration of aliens who have entered into the country legally and some who have entered illegally, pointing out that Sudan has agreements with some neighboring countries, such as the Four Freedoms Agreement with Egypt and agreements with Eritrea, Ethiopia and the Central African Republic, as well as joint forces with Chad and Libya, in addition to the citizens of South Sudan, acknowledging the human trafficking gangs along borders .
For his part, the representative of the National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS), Faisal Yousif, admitted with the presence of negative phenomena, disclosing that the crossings of Ashkeit, Al-Galabat, and Al-Lafa has become a gateway for the entry of large numbers of foreigners lawfully, adding that most of the complaints and crimes of counterfeiting committed by foreigners
He called localities to issue strict orders to the residence of aliens illegally and requiring from foreigners to perform regular medical tests which reduce transmitting certain diseases.
