Sudan’s National Elections Commission names Hala’ib as an electoral constituency No. (1)

SudaneseOnline- Sudan’s National Elections Commission (NEC) started on Tuesday the first step of the general elections and election of the President, Governors and state legislatures across the country, and named the disputed triangle Hala’ib as electoral constituency and given it the number (1).
NEC published the electoral register which contains (11) million and (600) thousand voters in all electoral registration centres in Khartoum and the States which amounts (7133) centres

In a press conference held on Tuesday, NEC Chief, Professor Mukhtar Al-Asam, said that the commission will publish currently the previous electoral with a view to revision it by adding new names or deletes the old names, adding that the NEC, and according to the schedule for elections, will announce the start of electoral registration, urging voters to go the polling stations to know about the published register.
Al-Asam stated that the law gives two- week period for appeals and objections, including revision, addition, and deletion, emphasizing that his commission is committed to schedules of the electoral processes, noting the absence of any financial constraints hampered the course of the vote
"We have no problem in financing, and NEC work and budgets are secured” he confirmed
