7 police officers sentenced to death in Sudan for the murder of Awadia

Khartoum-Khartoum North court has sentenced to death 7 police soldiers including an officer for the murder of Awadia Ajabna infront of her home at Al-Daim neighborhood in Khartoum.

While the family of the murdered has called for punishing the accused murderers, the court convicted the commander of the police team, who is an officer at the rank of lieutenant, and other police officers in connection of charges dealing with murder and violation of laws.

Squad of police discipline police clashed with a number of civilians in March, 2012 and used live bullets. Awadia, who was trying to protect her brother, who was clashing with the police, was killed.
