Sudanese Security arrests journalist Ahmed Al-Nour

Khartoum-The Security Service arrested last Thursday journalist Al-Nour Ahmed Al-Nour, the correspondent of the London-based Al-Hayat newspaper in Khartoum, and the columnist at Al-Taqyeer newspaper as well.

According to eye witness, Al-Nour received a telephone call at his office, and when answered the call, he was asked to meet people at the street near the premises of the newspaper, where he was arrested before transported to the building of security service political department and to Kober prison later.

In April 2013, he was ordered by the security stop his duties as the editor in chief of Al-Sahafa newspaper, threatening to suspend the issuance of the newspaper if the order was not implemented. In response, the newspaper relieved him from his duties as editor in chief as of April, 4, 2014.
