Sudan and ICRC sign headquarters agreement

Khartoum-The Sudanese Foreign Ministry and the International Committee for the Red Cross signed the on Thursday headquarters agreement after conducting amendments. This document will pose an official framework for the Sudanese-ICRC relations, and will replace the former agreement that was signed in 1984.
The new agreement comes after the suspension of the ICRC in Sudan in February 2014 by the Sudanese authorities. The Sudanese authorities attributed the suspension for technical issues, and asked the ICRC to reconsider the headquarters agreement that defines the legal and diplomatic frame of the ICRC in Sudan.
