The White Army of Chie-lang section clashed with the forces of renegade Gathoth Gatkuoth today at 1 pm at Mandeng. In the morning, renegade Gathoth Gatkuoth sent 500 soldiers to take the cattle of Chielang section because they refused to participate in the attack of Sunday against the SPLA forces in Nasir. When the rebels attacked Nasir on Sunday, Chie-lang refused to take part arguing that they would not continue to fight the government.

Renegade Gathoth Gatkuoth ordered his forces today to take the cattle of Chie-lang by force as a punishment for their refusal to support the rebels against the SPLA. He said that Chie-lang were influenced by Gov. Simon Kun Puoc and Gen. James Hoth. His forces managed to steal 400 ######### of cattle this morning.

However, Chie-lang White Army launched an attack in the afternoon and captured the headquarters of renegade Gathoth Gatkuoth. Mandeng is totally burned down by the White Army of Chie-lang. They killed 24 rebels of Gathoth Gatkuoth and wounded 40.

The Paramount Chief of Chie-lang called Gov. Simon Kun Puoc at 5 pm to inform him that his entire section will no longer fight the government. Gov. Simon Kun advised him to use his White Army to defend his cattle from the rebels because the SPLA forces cannot get involved in the clash between the rebels and the White Army. The Governor made it clear that the SPLA is observing the Cessation of Hostilities with the rebels and cannot get involved in the fight. However, the Chief is very confident that he will clear the rebels out of Jikany land. Chie-lang White Army is the most effective fighting machine in the entire Jikany territory.
