UNAMID welcomes Darfur rebels decision on child soldier ban

Khartoum-The United Nations-African Union joint mission in Darfur has welcomed the news steps made by Sudan Liberation Army/ Minawi to ban recruitment and use of children into its ranks. The movement has issued a decision, at earlier time, in which it announce commitment to the international rules and the Sudanese child protection act for 2010 on child protection. The movement issued, in august, 2014, a decision to map out the outlines of the executive mechanism to form a committee for the implementation of the decision and to raise the awareness on the ban of child soldier within the movement ranks and to coordinate with the relevant organizations to re integrate the child soldiers into the society.
