Sudanese court upholds verdicts against Agar and others

Khartoum-Sinnar appeal court has upheld the death sentences in absentia by the trial court against rebel leader Malik Agar and others in connection with the Blue incidents in 2011. The court has also upheld the life sentence against 46 defendants. It has further annulled the life sentence agaisnt “ Minallah Hussein and replaced it with life sentence.
According to the Sudanese media center, the decision included upholding the sentence in absentia against “ Zayed Ali Zayed”, the vice president of the SPLM in the Blue Nile and the ex agriculture minister on his capacity as one of the political leaders that planned the war in the state in 2011.
