Farmers’ alliance requests release of detainees

Khartoum-The alliance of Gezira and Al-Managel farmers has called for the release of all detainees, and denounced, at the same time, what they described as the oppressive policies of the state. The alliance has urged the government top stop confiscation of newspapers and harassment of journalists.

In a statement on Tuesday, the alliance expressed concern over the decline of the health conditions of some detainees who even suffer from lacking of medicines due to the prohibition of visits.

The alliance announced full rejection to the arbitrary arrests which contradict with the constitution and the international charters. He affirmed solidarity with all detainees including the head of the Sudanese Congress Party Ibrahim Al-Sheikh.

The statement said that the arrests against some ######### of parties and activists affirm that the regime does not know freedom nor ready to pay its dues. The alliance has accused the ruling national congress party of poisoning the atmosphere and igniting religious and racial seditions in the country.
