Khartoum-Hundreds of unemployed Sudanese youths gathered at the office of Khartoum state governor Dr. Abdelrahman Al-Khidir on Sunday carrying banners urging the governor to honor a pledge he made to find a job for each unemployed person in the state.
In a new statement on Saturday, the governor welcomed the unemployed youth who have interest in finding a job; however he said this will be through the micro finance and not in the government institutions which can be accessed through the national recruitment board.
Activists on Facebook have considered the gathering at the governor office as weak, saying that Al-Khidir has reacted in a smart way when he brought the forms of the micro finance for those who gathered in front his office.
The gathering was precede by a campaign on Facebook by activists in the past few days under the title” I am jobless” urging all unemployed people in the capital to gather at the governor office after he told a local newspaper that” any person who did not find a job, shall come to me directly”.
In the meantime, he said that the state is about to announce 2000 job opportunities for teachers in the coming few days through the recruitment board.
