Title: US keeps Sudan name on terror list

Khartoum-The US kept Sudan in the list of the countries sponsoring terrorism, according to the annual report of the US State Department.
The US State Department admitted cooperation of Sudan in combating terrorism last year, but said that Sudan still poses a logistic base for elements adopting Al-Qaeda thought.
The US State Department pointed to reports on participation of Sudanese nationals in” terrorist groups and activities” in countries such as Somalia and Mali.
On the other hand, the African mediation has announced end of the talks between the Sudanese government and the SPLM-North as the deadline for reaching an agreement has passed.
The talks started in April 22 and continued for 9 days without reaching an agreement to end the war in the Blue Nile and South Kordofan states.
The chairman of the African mechanism Thabo Mbeki announced suspension of the talks after the failure to achieve in any progress. The mediation team will submit a report to the African security council on the failed round of talks.
