Vice President calls for stopping production of mines

Khartoum-The Sudanese vice president Hasabo Mohamed Abdelrahman has called on the countries that signed the Ottawa Convention or the Mine Ban Treaty to promote the agreement and make new items that obligate countries to stop production of mines due to its severe negative impact on life of civilians.

In his speech at the celebration of the national center for combating mines on Sunday, Hasabo stressed the importance of supporting Sudan so that is able build its national capabilities in anti mine programs.

He renewed pledges to the anti -mine international agreements, pointing out that presidency of the republic will provide material, political and legal support for removing mines.
