DARFUR

(

14 Apr

.) -

The Sudanese Revolutionary Front (SRF) has announced that it will not participate in the national dialogue called for by President Al Bashir.

In a statement on Sunday, the SRF saying said it has “taken this strategic decision after extensive assessment.” It points out that “ever since the Khartoum regime started talking about the national dialogue, it has launched systematic military operations, escalated aerial bombardments and ground offensives, using militias to target the civilians in Darfur, South Kordofan, North Kordofan and Blue Nile”.

The statement confirms that the SRF is not willing to participate in what they termed the “Inqaz absurdity”:

“The victims are our mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers; therefore the SRF will not be a cover for the continuation of war crimes in the name of ‘dialogue’.

“The SRF will only accept a dialogue that leads to the transition from war to peace and from totalitarianism to democracy; one with a road map that clearly leads to transitional arrangements and establishment of the democratic alternative; one that builds a state of citizenship without discrimination. It must also achieve justice and reconciliation on the basis of truth and justice for the victims.”
