Sudanese army announces control over Haskanita town

Khartoum-The Sudanese army has announced on Tuesday that it was able to impose control on Haskanita town in eastern of north Darfur state after it was attacked by forces of Sudan Liberation Movement-Minawi faction in march, 2.
The spokesman of the Sudanese armed forces Colonel Al-Sawarmi Khalid Sa'ad has affirmed that the armed forces were able to enter Haskanita area on Tuesday morning after a sinful attack by the rebels of Minawi on the town.
He said that the rebel groups have looted the properties of the citizens, vandalized facilities and displaced populations.
The military spokesperson said that the armed forces have done wide scale acts of security upon entry to the town. He said that the armed forces are now chasing the rebels areas eastern Jabel Marra.
