Sudanese authorities arrest leader of Sudan Change Movement

Khartoum-The Sudanese government has arrested the leader in the Sudanese opposition and chairman of the Sudan Change Movement Dr. Abdelrhim Ahmed following an advertisement by the opposition to organize symposium at Al-Shoda’a ( martys) Square in Shambat. The opposition requested for a permission to conduct the symposium but the authorities turned down the request.

The authorities felt panic when thousands of the people have shown up at the symposium, and therefore, brought thousands of police and security to occupy the venue of the symposium. Later, the opposition decided to hold the symposium at the Sudanese Congress house when the police raided into the premises using weapons and tear gas causing injuries to tens of women and children and arresting thousands of people including Dr. Abdelrahim.
