Khartoum-The Security and Intelligence Service has affirmed Sudan’s commitment toward peace and stability in the Red Sea area, and referred to its big and known role in fighting all forms of inter-border crime, human trafficking and arms trade.
With regard to the news that an arms-laden ship has crossed the area into another destination, the head of the Information Department at the Security Service said in a press statement that the accurate investigations by the security and intelligence service has concluded that the shipment has nothing to do with any Sudanese party, pointing out that the arrival of any ship to Port-Sudan port is normal as it is open for all ships except the Israelis.
Few days ago, news report said that Israeli navy has seized a Panamanian-flagged arms ship off the Sudanese coast in the Red Sea.
He said that the port is a very important station for maintenance works and for fuel supply, affirming Sudan’s commitment toward its international legal duties.
He added that strict and clear instructions were sent to all Sudanese sea ports not no receive the arms-carrying ship that has been seized recently. He reiterated that Sudan will not allow this ship into its sea ports.
