South Sudan ambassador in Cairo urges clergymen to contribute in realization of peace and peaceful co-existence

Cairo-The ambassador of South Sudan to Cairo Anthony Kon has stressed the importance of religion clergymen in realizing peace and reconciliation and heal the social fabric.
In a meeting with religion clergymen at Al-Ma'di suburb in Cairo, the ambassador put forward an initiative for realization of peace, reconciliation and national unity among South Sudan community in Egypt. He called for prayers to be attended by members of he community to forego the bitterness, open new chapter and convey the message of peace and love.

Affirmed that South Sudan embassy in Egypt represents the whole people of the South and does not represent specific tribe, party and sect, and urged the clergymen to play a national role in encouraging the community to live together in peace and co –existence, and to renounce divisions and regionalism.

He reiterated the embassy's support to the entire efforts that lead to peace and reconciliation among the community members.
He further stressed the necessity of commitment to democratic rules and peaceful transfer of power via polling boxes, saying that people alone have the right to choose their rulers democratically and freely.

The clergymen have welcomed the initiative and lauded the embassy's method of involving them in the issues of homeland, affirming readiness to contribute in realizing peace and national reconciliation.
