UN official meets leaders of Darfur armed movements

Khartoum-The chief of the joint UN-African Union mission in Darfur, Mohamed Bin Shambas, has brought leaders of movements of Justice and Equality of Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, Sudan Liberation Movement- Minawi faction and Sudan Liberation Movement led by Abdel-Wahid Mohamed Nour in a meeting to be considered the first of its kind to bring Nour with other Darfur movement leaders.

Head of the office of the Sudan Liberation Movement-Minawi faction, Nour-Edayem Mohamed Ahmed Taha, has told Al-Sharq Al-Awsat that the meeting of Bin-Shambas with the leaders of the movements has focused on the peace process in Sudan and the comprehensive dialogue. He said that Bin-Shambas has affirmed support to the comprehensive political solution and the stopping of war. Taha added that the movements have affirmed that their stance is based on realization of peace, democratic transfer, the convocation of the constitutional conference and reaching an agreement on how to rule Sudan.
