Khartoum-London-Inspite of increased international pressure, the government of Sudan continues its violation of basic human rights. There is no press freedom, nor freedom of opinion, nor peaceful demonstrations. Political opponents are being detained regularly in unknown locations where their families and lawyers have no access to them.
Recently Tajuddin Ahmed Arja, a 22 years old student from Darfur, expressed his opinion in a confernce attended by President al-Bashir and Chad's Idriss Deby accusing both presidents to be the cause of the suffering of the Darfurian people, the ruthless bombarding of innocent people in Nuba Mountains and Blue Nile States.
Tajuddin was taken by the dreadful security forces of the regime on 24 December 2013 to face torture and probably liquidation. Since that time his family and lawyers have no contact with him.
Tajuddin is one of several hundred opponents of the regime who have been detained by the security forces and face torture, maltreatment and liquidation.
The Beja Congress demands the immediate release of Tajuddin and all political detainees.
The Beja Congress appeals to the interantional community, to the human rigts organizations, to the United Nations, to the European Union, to President Obama to condemn the government of Sudan for its continued violation of human rights and put enough pressure on it to release the political detainees and respect human rights as stated in the Charter of the United Nations.
