Khartoum-The federal health minister Idris Abu-Garada has acknowledged presence of problems facing his ministry in tobacco fighting and the mass expatriation of doctors and reluctance of many doctors to work in the states, attributing the issue to the non-commitment by the finance minister to pay the sum allocated to support the health sector. .
In reaction to the deputies’ queries during a deliberation on the report of the social, health and humanitarian panel on Monday, the minister said his ministry has brought an expert to integrate the handicapped in the strategic plan on the health system. The minister expected that the strategic plan is expected to be completed in two months.
In response to a suggestion by deputy Hayat Abdella on supporting cancer patients, minister affirmed that there are sums for supporting caner and kidney patients, urging the wealthy patients to leave this support for the needy.
A number of the deputies of the parliament criticized the minister report as ignoring the handicapped people.
In the meantime, they called for employing the midwives who were trained in the public service to encourage them to continue working.
