UNAMID’s head briefs Qatar Deputy Prime Minister on the situation in Darfur
Doha-Qatar Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Mahmoud, met on Wednesday in Doha with the head of the African Union-United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) and Joint Chief Mediator Mohamed Ibn Chambas.

Chambas briefed al-Mahmoud on the outcome of the consultative meeting held in Arusha in Tanzania from August 22 to 27 with some of Darfur’s non-signatory movements of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur.

Talks during the meeting also dealt with the situation in Darfur and the path of the implementation of Doha Document in addition to the latest developments in the peace process. The meeting was attended by officials from the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.
