On August 28, 1963 a crowd of thousands gathered for the March on Washington, united in the goal of introducing a new era of progress that would roll back centuries of oppression and poverty. In this historic day for the black people worldwide August28, we have come as SPLM-N, presenting Canada Office to remind the entire nation about the principal objectives of Sudan Peoples’ Liberation Movement (SPLM-NORTH), they shall include:
The establishment of the New Sudan, that shall be built on a free, just, democratic and secular system of governance based on the free will and popular participation of all the people of the New Sudan.
The achievement of the right and exercise of self-determination by and for the people of Abyei Area and by a right to popular consultation for the people of Southern Kordofan, Blue Nile and or other marginalized areas in fulfillment of their aspiration.
Building a national consciousness and common purpose in the New Sudan through the liberation of the individual and society from all forms of political, economic, social and other constraints.
The restoration of the greatness of the Sudanese people, and modernization of the Society.
Eradication of poverty and attainment of Millennium Development Goals.
Furthermore, we would like to draw your attention to the SPLM-N mission, which shall be to:
Cultivate strong bonds of solidarity among the people in support of SPLM-NORTH vision of New Sudan and the right of self determination for marginalized Sudanese in General.
Solicit support from host countries, communities and international organizations for the advancement of the SPLM-N Vision and Mission.
Mobilize political, social, financial, material and moral support among the membership, Sudanese Diaspora and the host country to support construction of the war affected areas, implementation of Comprehensive Peace Agreement, the advancement of democratic institutions and democratic transformation in the Sudan
In this historic day we are asking what is your point of view, have you ever asked yourself this question? We are asking you to go over our objectives and mission and think about that for a moment and then make your own decision. We area enquiring about the basic human right, are we asking too much?
For all the above we are asking the Sudanese people and the International communities to lend us their hands to defeat the injustices and to build a solid foundation for our principal objectives and to recognize that all people are created equal.
