Maternal Rights are Still Denied by the Police Units in the Patriarchal Sudanese Embassies in Europe
لاتزال وحدات الشرطة في السفارات الأبوية السودانية في أوروبا تنكر حقوق الأمومة
    Written by Mahmoud A. Suleiman
This article comes against the backdrop of the phenomenon that remains in existence in the Sudanese Embassies’ Police Units responsible for issuing travel documents such as VISA for Children Accompanying their Mothers; Maternal Rights are Still Denied in the Patriarchal Sudanese Police Units in the Embassies. One, probably somewhat naively, thought that the past Bureaucratic hateful things have changed; but unfortunately they are still remaining rife.
The Glorious Sudanese Revolution was a major shift of political power in Sudan that started with street protests throughout Sudan on the 19th of December 2018 and continued with sustained civil disobedience for about eight months, during which the 2019 Sudanese Coup d’etat deposed the then National Congress Party (NCP) President Omer Hassan Ahmed al-Bashir on 11 April after Thirty odd Years in power; unfortunately on the 3rd June, the Masacre has happened; that is an important but different story, I would not delve into it for now. As I referred to above nearly Three years have Passed since the Glorious Popular December 19, 2018, the Sudanese Revolution after the revolutionaries have tried everything they can to achieve, but the remnants of the former so-called National Congress Party (NCP) Islamist regime are still remain existing in the unjust laws against Sudanese women, especially the laws that rob them of their rights with regard to their children. The laws referred to are still continuing to prevent mothers by not allowing them to accompany their children to travel without the prior consent of the father of the children, and this practice has been practiced by the Sudanese embassies, police units, where mothers are denied the document that supposed to give the permission to accompany their children when traveling without the husband’s prior consent for permission, even if the child’s mother has been divorced from the child’s father! This is the unjust situation that violates the rights and freedom of the Sudanese women regarding their own children remaining as a stumbling block. Unfortunately, this dysfunctional practice is particularly prevalent in the police departments of the Sudanese embassies related to the issuance of travel permits, i.e. visas unit’s police departments responsible for issuing travel documents. Here one wonders whether the Ministry of Interior in the government of Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk has any information about what is happening in the embassies; and this question is awaiting an immediate answer until the maternity rights of Sudanese women are restored from the Patriarchal laws with regard to accompanying their own children during travel!
One would like to reiterate the fact that the Glorious 19th December Sudanese Revolution will not be complete unless firstly to do without the removal of the laws the continuing demeaning the rights of the Sudanese Women –aka- Kandaka are restored, to sponsor the company of their children WITHOUT her former husband’s Written Permission – even if she is divorced.
At this particular point one would like to bring in the following quotation: “The shadow of the pole is not expected to be straight while it is originally crooked”.
Abhijit Naskar, the Bengal Tigress: A Treatise on Gender Equality has been quoted as saying: “Women are no sheep. Women are no fragile showpiece to be placed above the fire-place. Women of the thinking society are the builders of nations. Women of the sentient society are the builders of the world.” https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/tag/patriarchal-societyhttps://www.goodreads.com/quotes/tag/patriarchal-society

Furthermore, the Egyptian Poet Hafiz Ibrahim has been quoted as saying in his poetic verse: “A mother is a school, if you properly prepare it, you will prepare a people of good races.” https://adabworld.com/%D8%B4%D8%B9%D8%B1-%D8%AD%D8%A7%D9%81%D8%B8-%D8%A7%D8%A8%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%87%D9%8A%D9%85-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A3%D9%85-%D9%85%D8%AF%D8%B1%D8%B3%D8%A9-%D8%A5%D8%B0%D8%A7-%D8%A3%D8%B9%D8%AF%D8%AF%D8%AA%D9%87/https://adabworld.com/%D8%B4%D8%B9%D8%B1-%D8%AD%D8%A7%D9%81%...F%D8%AF%D8%AA%D9%87/
