Greetings I think your call is a very valid call and it’s very important to all of the Sudanese in general. But when we write we write for our generations and the future of the upcoming generation, my kids your kids and beyond. We need them to know about the grate Sudanese people, about history, so our focus should be in using Wikipedia to write in Arabic about such people , not in English first, document that and authenticate it, for all who contributed to the country of Sudan and then we can translate the work to any language. Just a suggestion
Thank you

Dear Abdul Latif and Hisham
Couldn't agree more. The English forum should be as lively and active as the Arabic one.
If you have noticed, most of the news articles in Arabic nowadays are translated from the English versions in major news agencies, whether Reuters, AP or AFP.
Leading Arabic newspapers, such as Asharq Al Awsat, resort to translating, not only articles, but also writings by noted columnists in NY Times, Washington Post, IHT, CSM, etc.
It always tastes different when you read anything in the original language. No matter how accurate and good, things tend to lose their appeal when they get translated.
On the other hand, and not that I look the Arabic down, but English has become the dominant medium of communication, and the language of education. It is no longer a British commodity, but rather a universal tool for bringing people together.
I am very glad to see more people coming into this forum and I hope one day, it will be as popular as the Arabic one.

Dear Hisham Amin,
Thanks for your contribution, You're right totally .. because it's not about the poor contents in English only, And the question is if we aren't able to write about our self who's gonna right for us ?! Our enemies!! .. and that's what's happening now .. most of our history and archive is not in our hand! ..
I will try to do my best, to Write both in Arabic in English .. we are all able to do that.
Thanks Hisham for passing here ..
please keep around

The two Sudanese mailing lists which I referred to under another subject were in English. During those years electronic Arabic writing was not affordable or widely used. A good number of subscribers mastered English. However some used to wrangle to express their views in English. Most of the users were from Sudanese in diaspora either in US or other English speaking countries in addition to a good number who were lucky enough to get better education at home when Sudanese School Certificate was more accredible than IGSCE ( English medium certificate). IGSCE students used to sit for an English exam.test by then if they wanted to join U of Kh. English is then main world communication tool as such to learn English language is manatory to find your way way on earth nowadays Tieing languages with identity and nationalism has created a great damage to Sudanese. To impose Arabic language in a country with more than 110 different native languages and scrap away English and all native languages has never given Sudan an Arabic identity. Amazingly enough our kids and young generations nowadays who have been born and raised in Arab countries hardly speak Arabic because they do not feel that they need it much than English for their studies or work.

You know dear friend the problem not in how we can start writing our historical events or our old history stories, its more than that dear, do you know how many book wrote about our country but all the information that inside the book is fake, yes fake and counterfeiting. Yes I'm with you its time to write about our country, however it is the time to change all this wrong information..
