Sudan’s Cabinet passes the draft budget for fiscal year 2015

December 19, 2014-Khartoum-SudaneseOnline-Sudan’s Cabinet approved at its meeting on Thursday the draft budget for fiscal year 2015, besides budget of the past year, while Parliament will discuss the draft budget on Monday. The Parliament will form committees of coordination and drafting to study and discuss the budget detail.
Sudan’s Minister of Finance and National Economy, Badr Eddin Mahmud, said in press statements on Thursday that the budget of year 2015 is the first budget come in the framework of the five-year program, describing the budget as good and with stable performance.
He added that the budget has an increase in GDP, rate of growth reaches up to (3.6%), low inflation for (25%), as well as the improvement in the balance of payments and the balance for up to (410) million dollars, along with significant import bill estimated at (650) million dollars and the stability in the exchange rate.
Sudan’s Minister of Finance and National Economy noted that the budget focused on real resources, not borrowing from the banking system or other, stressing that the deficit does not exceed the proportion (1.2%), along with support for social programs.
