Ghandour: Corruption is not new in governments of Sudan

Khartoum-The deputy chairman of the National Congress and assistant to the President Ibrahim Ghandour has said that there are ex ministers and officials in governments before the national salvation that lived in Palaces and built buildings in eras when obtaining a cement permit was very difficult. He added” those ministers did not live in the squatter house. They live in high buildings and we are ready for accountability”.

Addressing a gathering of female academicians and intellectuals in his party on Wednesday, Ghandour urged them not to hesitate to report on any suspicious case of ill-gotten wealth provided that the charges are supported with

    evidence.

He said that the state will not show mercy to any corrupt persons no matter what his post in the party is. He said that there is no government in the world that negotiated with the armed movements like what the Sudanese government did, calling on the armed movements to request the Presidency to allow them into Khartoum to engage in the dialogue. He added” they shall come to dialogue, and if they did not like it, they can return and take up the gun”.

Ghandour has admitted that the dialogue process is progressing slowly; however, he said that dialogue will reach its goals. He added that of the Sudanese people engaged in dialogue, they will agree eventually, adding that the resort to the military force is a means to bring the armed holders to the negotiation table.
