Retired bankers sit in at Republican Palace to protest benefits delay
|
Khartoum-Tens of the retired bankers made a sit-in before the Republican Palace on Monday protesting the delay of the post service dues for more than ten years. In the meantime, the Presidency of the Republic formed a committee comprising bank of Sudan and ministries of finance and justice to implement the decision on their dues.
The deputy chairman of the retired bankers union Ahmed Abdellah has announced intention to submit a letter to the minister of the Presidency Salah-Eddin Wansi on Tuesday demanding a fixed date for the implementation of the decision. He pledged to continue the sit-in until Wednesday.
The advocate Abdel-Moneim Osman said in press statements on Monday that what happened to the retired bankers of the banks reflects the contradiction in the judicial organs in Sudan. He has further urged the chief justice Ahmed Dafa’alla to lift the injustice on the retired bankers who served in Bank of Sudan, the Agricultural bank, Al-Nelain, Khartoum, the saving bank and the real estate bank.
