These days I am listening to the songs of life to the songs of pain and sorrow. The songs composed by the God. I have to listen to these songs every second, every moment of my life. Honestly, some people have a totally different songs. Songs of humor and hope. I hope one day the composer changes His mind and made me listen to these songs- songs of hope and humor.
--- Thanks for the post Hadeer.

You are more than welcome Bashir.
Let me then share my translation of the whole verse with you.
I have done it quickly for the purpose of research as one of my 'half cast'
nephews is writing his ph.d. on Sudanese Comparative Folk Music:Sudanese vs German.
I gave it a different title:
Unaware of Departure:
(Maho 3arif gadamu lmifariq) Ibraheem Abdul Jaleel
Doesn't know (he) is departing, Peace with you round the Globe Summer simoom in the East still promising some hope (His)star radiated among friends how come he joins dark slope Oh epoc! Filled with sneaky horrors that turn black hair white But never mind! Let bygone be gone! Keep cool; no blame You wrecked my weakened body; leaving nothing for vultures Except a sorrowful heart but my tongue still untame What a heart still pulsing as, tearful, in misery, leaving Omdurman Mother of trustworthy tribes, your earth irrigated with a pregnant cloud A heaven, a park for wild deer your wide streets or lanes with crowd Tell me of your 'good evening' in eternal solemnity and order Eves of pleasure and luxurious cushions still beyond words to describe Hide your beauty; your fragrance is escaping across the wind to bribe On the right of the river side where we used to be the first to come The gracious tomb scenting the atmosphere -Peace to you Imam Al Mahdi- Wish the love is not so high up; wish the full moon is right here! Wish he is here that flowery heaven; in youth never knew sins All dressed in white chastise; looks like a convoy of pigeons Oh messenger of air roam above him; reach his Godly created soul When you come back safely; tell me from yonder about the Niles coupling Loved ones drew attracted all and terminated relations with me Suits them well be it coquetry or pride; we don't get bored of their adversary O shiniest beauty among your sisters; fill up your glass and wait a little Your gathering is still in solemn session; behold whether it is broken or complete From 'fiteeh' to 'alkhour' to 'almafaliq'; from 'abrouf hills' to its slopes I pray God for a stroll bare footed and bald headed; along the route of the tram O my Country full of geniuses; who know no master but your God They are ready to run risks for you; die as long as you live honored We never lose hope in return of good; the living will beat all blockages Until we meet: stay well; Peace My Country.. Peace Be on You!
Translator's Comment: Very special-used Arabic vocabulary most of which is archaic very seldom used. Again reference is to the country although in some instances the sweet heart is referred to distinctly.
To hassan: I hope it conveys to you the taste of the unequalled meanings. Personally, I am not satisfied with the translation as I feel I could have given it a bit of a rhyme. asha.

Dear Aisha,
I am speechless
The poem is difficult to comprehend in its orignal language, let alone translating it into English.
My favourie vesre
Quote: pray God for a stroll bare footed and bald headed; along the route of the tram
has retained the same poetic appeal in English too.
Thank you Aisha for the superb translation. Only a poet can translate poetry.

Thanx again hassan;
In your favourite line I wasn't sure whether bald is suitable or perhaps "shaved" is more appropriate; as one might shave in anger or as expression of misery. I thought baldness signifies respect and dedication to a cause. I would love to hear the choice of a man between the 2 terms for this line and its implications: bare footed and shaved (or bald)headed.

Salaamat Hadeer habiba wa Happy 2013 to U & All
My favorite one is here.........
Kenny Rogers - She Believes In Me
While she lays sleeping I stay out late at night to play my songs And sometimes all the nights can be so long And it`s good when I finally make it home, all alone While she lays dreaming, I touch her face across the silver light I see her dreams that drift upto the sky And she wakes up to my kiss and I say it`s alright And I hold her tight. And she believes in me I`ll never know just what she sees in me, I told her someday if she was my girl I could change the world with my songs, but I was wrong But she has faith in me And so I go on trying faithfully Forever in my heart she will remain And I hope and pray I will find a way, find a way
While she lays waiting I ask myself do I hurt her so What called me on a long and this lonely road, Why dont i turn around and head back home where I belong While she lays crying For she knows my heart is ripped in two I`m torn between the things that I should do She deserves it all and I'd give it if i could, god her love is true
While she lays sleeping While she lays sleeping for me.....

Salaam Hadeer and I wish you a happy new year. . . In June 2011, I wrote on this post:
Quote: These days I am listening to the songs of life to the songs of pain and sorrow.
Commenting on my above previous statement I would like to say that that month was a very stressful for me and very gloomy. Thanks "His" who lifted from me a part of these heavy things. . . and thanks again for you for the amazing song titled "why". . . "His" I think that it is an English translation of the name of Allah "هو" as we say in Arabic: "لا إله إلا هو"

Christina Aguilera - At Last
At last My love has come along My lonely days are over And life is like a song
Oh yeah yeah, at last The skies above are blue My heart was wrapped up in clover The night I looked at you
And I found a dream that I could speak to A dream that I can call my own I found a thrill to press my cheek to A thrill that I have never known
Oh yeah yeah, and you smile, you smile Oh, and then the spell was cast And here we are in Heaven For you are mine at last

Ombadda my friend,
Hope to find a time to know the amazing Enigma (musical project)..! It is an electronic musical project founded in Germany by Michael Cretu, David Fairstein and Frank Peterson in 1990.
The Romanian-born Cretu conceived the Enigma project while working in Germany, but has based his recording studio A.R.T. Studios in Ibiza, Spain, since the early 1990s until May 2009, where he has recorded all of Enigma's studio releases to date.
Cretu is both the composer and the producer of the project. His former wife, pop singer Sandra, often provided vocals on Enigma tracks.
Seven studio albums have been produced under the name of the project.

Michael Jackson - Will You Be There
Hold Me Like The River Jordan And I will then say to Thee You are my friend
Carry me Like you are my brother Love me like a mother Will you be there?
Weary Tell me will you hold me When wrong, will you scold me When lost will you find me?
But they told me A man should be faithful And walk when not able And fight till the end But I'm only human
Everyone's taking control of me Seems that the world's Got a role for me I'm so confused Will you show to me You'll be there for me And care enough to bear me
(Hold Me) show me (Lay Your Head Lowly) Told me (Softly Then Boldly) Yeah (Carry Me There) I'm only human
(Lead Me) Hold me (Love Me And Feed Me) Yeah yeah (Kiss Me And Free Me) Yeah (I Will Feel Blessed) I'm Only Human
(Carry) Carry (Carry Me Boldly) Carry yeah (Lift Me Up Slowly) Yeah (Carry Me There) I'm Only Human
(Save Me) Lead me (Heal Me And Bathe Me) Lift me up, lift me up (Softly You Say To Me) (I Will Be There) I will be there
(Lift Me) Told me yeah (Lift Me Up Slowly) (Carry Me Boldly) Yeah (Show Me You Care) Will you be there
(Hold Me) Whoooo (Lay Your Head Lowly) I get lonely some times (Softly Then Boldly) I get lonely yeah yeah (Carry Me There) Will you be there
(Lead me) Whoo (love me and feed me) Lift me up Hold me up (Kiss me and free me) lift me up sometimes oh sometimes (I will feel blessed) Yeah
[Spoken] In our darkest hour, In my deepest despair, Will you still care? Will you be there? In my trials, And my tribulations; Through our doubts, And frustrations; In my violence, In my Turbulence, Through my fear, And my Confessions; In my anguish and my pain, Through my joy and my sorrow, In the promise of another tomorrow, I'll never let you part - For You're Always In My Heart.

MawlanaJalaluddin Rumi Balkhi was a 13th century muslim sufi saint. After so many centuries his message of Love is being rediscovered and spread by people around the world.
MawlanaJalaluddin Rumi Balkhi or as commonly known as Rumi has written a few books among them is his famous Masnavi in Persian language. His main theme in his books are Love, Divine love, love for humanity and Nature.
In his love of Divine he has written many poems and couplets. This Divine Love was instilled in his heart by his spiritual teacher Shams e Tabrizi who took Rumi as his only student throughout his life.
To this day Rumi's spiritual tradition continues known as Mevlavi Spiritual Order of Islamic Sufism, they are also known as whirling dervishes.
Rumi's message is of Love which people need the most in these days.
There is great wisdom in his poetry and his message of Love is for all.

Salam to you all good people :-) My password here finally works (very elated!)
My singer, not song, these days is Alanis Morissette- she's different, crazy and talented. I used to listen to her many years ago but then don't know what happened.. just found my way to her voice again.
Listen to Ironic please, you'll love it!
