Re: Darfurian Roots (Re: Ahmed Mohamedain)

Dear Bakri,
The socio- political case in Darfour from ethnic point of view not differ greatly than the undergoing assimilation and social interaction took place in Upper nile (Northern Sudan) between the Nubians and Arab tribes.
Fur, Masalitte, Feirtite, Zagawa, etc are mainly like ( Shaigiah, Danagla, Bideria , Robatab, Danagla, Mahas,in the North), i.e are cousin or brothers in Law. This is a simple logic look to our country Anthorpology.
The Fur are the original dwellers of Darfur, and Arab tribes came to Darfur mainly from North Africa via Moroco, some stories confirmed their been drifted from Andalous Kingdom after its collapse, and now mixed with the original Fur, and other african tribes in the region.
Fur Sultante in it is historical form and structure was first established in 1475 in fifteen century at that time fur has had a Sultan called Shao, whos is daughter married Abdulrahman the son of Ahmed Al Magoore an arab man coming from Tunisia "his story is well known " generation after generation in Darfur,( see Book : Sudan History- Naoom Shuggaire). Historically there were many Sultante built in Darfur, in conjunction with fur Sultante but through out that era the dominancy is for Fur Sultante, simply it was more advanced in its ruling system in comparison of other sultantes like (Dagoo, Tunjor, Walad Hilal etc.), whick was tribalistic in system.
No drastic change in the African Physical structure of Fur or their cousin from other african tribes in Darfur, yes they speak arabic as the result of their being Muslims, but still fur dialect is dominating like Danagla or Mahas dialects in the North, and Nilotic Tribes in South and Beijah in Eastern Sudan.
Whatsoever the catastroph of 1986 famine, it was not change the social structure of the region in Darfur, still consistant well distinguished by its tribal borders, folks and traditions.
The now adays african tribes in Darfur are originally Sudanese, but ethic, culture and mode, yes there is immigrants from neigbouring countries like T-chad, but we have to take into consideration the tribal system in Western or Northern or Southern Sudan stand firm against the new commers to penetrate.
Even those who were coming from T-Chad they are border tribes of the same type or origin of those in Sudan taking into account T-Chad one day it was a part of Sudan before France cut it off. But no Fur tribe in T-Chad, you can find for each arab tribe a sister tribe alike in Tchad, as well Zagaw are widely spread between Sudan and Chad, Lybia etc.
There are so many reading might furnish you with historical data and information about the sudan people, among which Mac Michael Book " Arab History in Sudan", and other British writers or administrators who served in Sudan, even Sudan book shops full or native editors who wrote alot about Sudan communities.
