06:52 PM April, 11 2016 Sudanese Online Sudan News Agency-Khartoum-Sudan My Library Short URL Khartoum, April 11 (SUNA) - Sudan participated with a delegation headed by the State Minister at the Ministry of Industry Dr. Abdu Daoud in the Ninth Joint Annual Meetings of the African (AU) Union's Technical Committee specialized in the financial and monetary affairs and the economic planning and integration as well as the Conference of African Economic Committee of the Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, which was held in Addis Ababa with the participation of United Nations Population Fund, World Bank and the World Health Organization (WHO), along participation of more than 32 representatives from several countries and international organizations. Dr. Daoud said. in a statement to SUNA, that the meeting discussed the difficulties and challenges facing Africa, where light was shed on the demand drop for basic commodities and their prices fallen. The meeting also touched on the problem of drought and its impact on agricultural production, the problem of floods and the destruction it caused for infrastructures in a number of African countries and the discussion of the problem of US dollar exchange rate increase, which has contributed to the raise of debt as well as the issue of green manufacturing and the impact of industrial policies on the environment, employment, growth and trade, besides the subject of cleaner production, which aims to continuously apply the preventive strategy including the operations of manufacturing, marketing and services along the increase of efficiency and reduction of risks to human health and the environment. Dr. Daoud said that the meeting got assured on the experience of Ethiopia in integrating and evaluating the global and continental frameworks in its national development plan, explaining that these factors had an impact on the happening of financial and economic imbalances and the reduction of the socio-economic development in the community. The State Minister at the Ministry of Industry explained that experts called for the need to adopt an integrated and coherent approach for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the plan for the year 2063 and the goals of sustainable development and taking advantage of the aspects of synergies and integration between the regional development frameworks in the long-term as well as the development of an integrated framework results includes both the continental and global plans development.
